The Torean route is quickly becoming the favorite for adventurers who seek dramatic landscapes over sheer altitude. Often described as stepping into "Jurassic Park," this trail traces a magnificent river gorge, weaving through lush green valleys, thermal streams, and past the towering Penimbungan Waterfall.

In this 3 Days 2 Nights expedition, you will ascend directly to Segara Anak Lake via the scenic Torean valley, camp by the water, and then climb to the Sembalun Crater Rim. The journey culminates with a sunrise attack on the 3,726-meter summit before a sweeping descent down the Sembalun savannas. It is a thrilling, visually spectacular loop guided by Grand Rinjani's premium standards.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: The Valley of Waterfalls

Torean Village (585m) → Segara Anak Lake (2,000m)
  • 07:30 AM: Registration at Torean Trekking Center. The trek begins through shaded plantations and bamboo forests.
  • 11:30 AM: Stop for a gourmet lunch at Pos 2 (Birisan Nangka), surrounded by dense tropical foliage.
  • 01:30 PM: Enter the breathtaking Torean Gorge. The trail follows the Kokok Putih river, offering views of the majestic Penimbungan Waterfall (100m drop).
  • 05:30 PM: Arrive directly at Segara Anak Lake. Your premium tents will be pitched lakeside. Enjoy dinner and a relaxing evening by the campfire.

Day 2: Hot Springs & The Climb to the Rim

Lake (2,000m) → Hot Springs → Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m)
  • 07:00 AM: Wake up to the serene views of Mount Barujari (the baby volcano) reflecting on the lake.
  • 08:30 AM: Take a short walk to the natural volcanic hot springs. Soak your muscles in the therapeutic waters while our team prepares an early lunch.
  • 12:00 PM: Begin the steep, 3-hour ascent out of the caldera towards the Sembalun Crater Rim.
  • 04:00 PM: Reach the Sembalun Crater Rim. Rest in your luxury tent, watch the sunset above the clouds, and prepare for the midnight summit push.

Day 3: The Summit & Savanna Descent

Rim (2,639m) → Summit (3,726m) → Sembalun Village (1,156m)
  • 02:00 AM: Wake up for hot tea and a light energy breakfast before beginning the ascent.
  • 06:00 AM: Reach the 3,726-meter summit. Celebrate the spectacular sunrise over the Lesser Sunda Islands.
  • 07:30 AM: Descend back to the rim for a substantial second breakfast.
  • 09:30 AM: Begin the descent down the golden savannas of Sembalun, with a lunch break at Pos 2.
  • 03:30 PM: Arrive at Sembalun Village. Our private transport will return you safely to your hotel or airport.
